On Site Design

The preferred method of consultation, whereby your site is visited in person and a design is developed on the ground with a greater degree of accuracy.
At a minimum, on site designs result in the following:
  • A detailed, hand drawn concept design.
  • A detailed design report including:
    • A vision statement as understood and agreed upon by all parties which encapsulates the short and long term vision for the property and/or project.
    • Site sector and zone analysis detailing slope, aspect, prevailing winds etc...
    • Extensive seasonal plant lists and planting plan based on both annual market garden systems and perennial systems.
    • A site fertility enhancing plan based on your project and its resources.
    • A list of further learning resources and contacts based on your project and its suitabilities.
    • A scaled base map.
Typically, what does the process look like?
  • Upon request, you are to complete a pre-visit questionnaire via email to give us insight into the project that may assist with preparations before visit.
  • A 2-4 hour (or multi day, depending on scale) visit of the project site. This site visit will include;
  1.   A meeting with project coordinator
  2. A solo walk to conduct site assessment and analysis
  3. Concept discussion regarding ideas, goals and possibilities. Agree on the design direction.
  4. Offsite, we create a fundamental design sketch which is emailed to the client for feedback and notes.
  5. We have a second site meeting or online meeting to discuss the draft.
  6. We develop a final concept design and lock it in.
If appropriate and required, we organise follow up phone meetings to provide insight and clarification into the design.

Design fee
  • To organise a quote for your property contact us today. In this quote we’ll provide clear details so you can see the fee for each stage and/or item of the design process.
A full implementation and maintenance schedule is included in the design brief. Our team is happy to assist and execute project implementation, or give intelligent suggestions as to who can help.

"My husband and I had our consultation with Benson for our property and it was SO GREAT. We are so excited about all the opportunities we have to grow food and restore the land and Benson's knowledge and experience has just taken our casual ideas about fruit trees and veggie gardens and built it into a whole plan for a homestead haven. Cannot possibly recommend enough

Learning about trees, water, weeds, and mushrooms! Also the concept of a food forrest, and depth of the teachers understanding, was amazing. Benson teaches with a lot of clarity and kept me super interested throughout his classes.
